Winchester utilizes a free texting system to immediately alert families to emergencies, cancellations or to provide other important notifications. and parents will be notified via the Winchester Text Alert System.
Every parent and everyone involved in transporting your child should be enrolled on this text system so everyone stays informed and is updated in a timely manner.
How to sign-up:
In a new text message:
You will receive a confirmation text immediately after successfully enrolling from “RainedOut mobile alerts”.
Create a contact in your phone book (like when you add a new number to your phone) and title this contact: “Winchester Alerts” so you know these texts are from Winchester.
In the event of inclement weather or other changes, parents will be notified via the Winchester Text Alert System.
As a general rule, the Winchester School follows Montgomery County Public School's (MCPS). When MCPS has any type of delayed opening due to weather, Winchester will open at 10:45am. When MCPS cancels after-school activities, Winchester will cancel our after–school activities. In call cases, parents will be notified via the Winchester Text Alert System.
In the event of non-weather related emergencies, our staff is trained to handle these with your child's safety as our top priority and will use the Winchester Text Alert System to keep parents informed.
